FAQs
It doesn’t matter if we’ve heard it before — it’s your turn to ask. Hopefully, some of these help clarify BUNDL ahead of your consultation.
When patients opt to do stimulation/egg retrieval cycles consecutively, we call this a back-to-back protocol. It is a very common protocol for patients who are facing a diagnosis of diminished ovarian reserve, and it gives them the ability to focus solely on retrieving eggs, creating embryos, and most importantly testing the chromosomal viability of those embryos with PGT-A and in some cases PGT-M or SR. All viable embryos are then banked, and patients can access them later for FET(s) when they are ready.
Just like patients who have a desire to bank their eggs, some patients who have a sperm source available have a desire to create and bank embryos instead. Reasons for embryo banking may vary, but the most common reasons are low ovarian reserve, gender selection, chromosomal mutations, timing of pregnancy, and in some cases, some patients just desire a very large family.
For patients who are only looking to expand their family by one or two children, have an average or above average ovarian reserve, or just eager to get to an embryo transfer, the BUNDL Basic package is the perfect option. When patients desire a larger family or have a bit more challenging ovarian reserve to contend with and not in a rush to get to an embryo transfer, going with the back-to-back package checks all the boxes. By completing your egg retrieval cycles first, you are ensuring that you have enough viable embryos available when the time comes for you to start your FET cycles.
